Mental health issues affect more than just our individual lives– they can impact our families, partners and loved ones! Couples and family sessions are unique because the couple or family is the "client”, meaning your therapist works with you to find solutions and strategies that work for everyone involved. Sometimes an unbiased third party can help you break through as a couple or family and get the skills and tools you need to thrive. We regularly work with family members who are not individual clients themselves.
EMDR is a holistic and form of therapy designed to diminish negative feelings associated with memories and traumatic events. The goal of EMDR is to fully process past experiences and sort out the emotions attached to those experiences. Negative thoughts and feelings that are no longer useful are replaced with positive thoughts and feelings that will encourage healthier behavior and social interactions. Ultimately, it teaches self efficacy as you teach your brain how to regulate itself. Though it was originally developed for PTSD, we find this intervention effective in treating a wide range of mental health symptoms including: anxiety, depression, chronic pain and grief and loss. We also offer a subset of EMDR called Brainspotting.
We are proud to be offer effective alternatives to traditional talk therapy in the form of art therapy and movement therapy. Both are incredibly effective at helping people utilize their creativity to gain insight into themselves and learn how to regulate their emotions.
Dance and movement therapy is also especially helpful for those that have a history of trauma or are looking to restore a sense of safety in their body.
Kyra and Jen offer art therapy and Erika offers dance and movement therapy.
Medication can be an extremely important component in managing your mental health, especially when your doctor and therapist work together.

“In addition to individual therapy, I'm in Amanda's weekly group. I've created wonderful friendships here. It's also functioned as a safe space for me to experiment with things like stating my needs, getting vulnerable, setting boundaries, and receiving feedback from a non-therapist. [Amanda and Maddie] saved my life and then stuck with me to help me rebuild it from the bottom up.”
“They saved my life and then stuck with me to help me rebuild it from the bottom up.”
