“My style in therapy is calm and compassionate, but I don’t shy away from the hard work that sometimes needs to be done in order to facilitate change.”
For as long as I can remember I knew that I wanted to become a therapist. I have always been a highly sensitive person, and I connect deeply with what those around me are experiencing. I found healing for myself when I allowed myself to ask for and accept the same thing I was offering to those around me.
I believe that the relationship between you and your therapist is one of the most, if not the most, important things about therapy. It’s important to me to bring all of my humanity into the therapeutic relationship, and to meet each person wherever they are. My style in therapy is calm and compassionate, but I don’t shy away from the hard work that sometimes needs to be done in order to facilitate change. I am committed to working collaboratively to set goals for therapy and supporting you in reaching those goals.
My theoretical foundations and training are in the Unified Protocol, as well as Cognitive Processing Therapy and Narrative Therapy, especially for trauma. I use a Health At Every Size Approach to help people make peace with food, their bodies and ultimately themselves. For individuals with OCD, I use my training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I believe therapy is an incredibly helpful tool in building awareness of ourselves and the patterns that can sometimes get in our way, especially during times of challenge and crisis. I look forward to meeting you!
Going for a hike with my dogs, going out for a delicious meal, and then lounging on the couch with a cozy movie.
Cream and sugar or not at all. I'm more of a tea gal!
It’s a tie for me between taking a hike to a gorgeous vista, or connecting mindfully to my body with yoga.
Taking the leap to get out of my comfort zone and take a year away from my career to travel the country in a little travel trailer with my husband and two dogs.
Creating a deep and genuine relationship with my clients and getting to see them find relief from their emotional pain.
