As a teenager, feeling overwhelmed by pressures at school and struggles within my family, the only ways I knew to cope were self-harm and disordered eating. I know what it’s like to wake up every day to the binge-restrict cycle, feeling trapped and hopeless and never enough. Going to therapy helped me develop a foundation of self-compassion, which allowed me to find coping strategies that nurtured me. Learning about the Intuitive Eating approach in therapy truly changed my life–not only healing my relationship with food and with my body, but allowing me to develop a friendship with myself, treating myself with the same love and respect as I would show to anyone else.

Knowing that this inner transformation is possible is what fueled my desire to become a therapist. Nothing is more wonderful to me than when a client “gets it”--is able to break free from self-criticism, to feel empowered in their life, to know that change and hope are  within reach. As a person-centered therapist, the most important piece for me is creating a relationship in which you feel seen and heard in the fullness of who you are, without judgment. I also utilize techniques from CBT, ACT, and DBT to uncover patterns of thought and behavior that may be holding you back, and to help re-align you with your values and with more sustainable ways of thinking and living. Whatever brings you to therapy at this time, I am excited to meet you where you are and honored to support your growth!
