“My goal is to give you a safe space where you can finally put into words the things we swallow throughout the day.”
Therapy can help you to develop greater self awareness, deepen connections with others, and create a personally meaningful life. I try to foster an atmosphere of safety in which you experience a sense of freedom to think and feel. Maybe you are having trouble adjusting to a new change or are feeling stuck; perhaps you repeatedly find yourself in unhappy relationships or conflicts at work and struggle with low self-esteem. It may be that your familiar coping skills, which originally developed out of need, are no longer working for you.
In my senior year of high school, my family faced a traumatic event. Eventually I started therapy. This experience was so fulfilling and valuable, which ultimately inspired me to become a therapist. I knew I wanted to be able to provide the same kind of guidance and support to others in their time of need.
I work with a wide variety of individuals, but specialize in helping those with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and self esteem. I am especially passionate about working with young adults, first-generation college students, BIPOC folks, and Asian Americans. I can speak and conduct therapy sessions in English, Urdu, and Pashto and understand the sometimes confusing nature of intersecting identities.
I enjoy working collaboratively and helping individuals develop healthy coping skills and enhance their strengths in order to develop a toolkit that can be utilized outside of therapy. I use techniques such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My goal is to give you a safe space where you can finally put into words the things we swallow throughout the day. I would be honored to be a part of your healing journey and help you achieve your goals.
