My own experience of therapy began when I was 13 years old, a time when my family was going through significant changes, leaving me grappling with the challenges of adjustment. Later, as an adult, I embarked on a profound journey of self-discovery when I came out as queer. During that transformative period, I had the privilege of working with an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist who played a pivotal role in helping me find my footing in my new life and embrace my authentic self.
That transformative experience ignited a desire within me to offer that same refuge to others. My approach is grounded in person-centered theory, bolstered by a strength-based perspective, all through the lens of trauma-informed care. I firmly believe that each individual holds the wisdom of their own life experiences and possesses innate strengths that we can collaboratively nurture. Empathy, trust, and respect are at the core of every therapeutic relationship I cultivate. I enter each session with an open heart, unconditional positive regard, and void of judgment. Holding space for my clients is a profound honor and privilege. In my practice today, I specialize in working with both adults and adolescents, focusing on issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. I am proudly an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist.
