Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle
The #1 New York Times Bestseller is a raw and epic personal memoir about her personal story of addiction, motherhood and how she transformed through discovering the infidelity of her husband. With themes of vulnerability, redemption and the quest to find your true self, Glennon’s motto is that life is “bruitiful” (beautiful and brutal). Its supposed to break us, but there is beauty and transformation in the pain. Sure to touch anyone whether they are dealing with any of the above issues or not! Untethered Soul by Michael Singer Have you ever wondered who you really are? Michael Signer dives into this topic in this spiritual book, through distinguishing who you really are versus your thoughts. Some of my favorite sections of the book include when Signer discusses your internal “thorns” and our pain is caused by avoiding our deeper issues. When I read this book in my Yoga Teacher Training five years ago, it changed my life. This book is dense, but its sure to bring transformation to anyone you give this book to. Brave Enough by Cheryl Strayed This is a lighter book filled with quotes and insight but still packs a powerful insightful punch. The way Cheryl writes, this books almost feels like you’re having coffee with a dear friend. You can pick it up and open up a page anywhere in the book and get wisdom for exactly what you need. This little book is a powerful reminder that life is wild, unpredictable and unique to each of us. |
3. Massage Gift Certificate
One of my favorite gifts to give are massages. Massages are one of those things that are so good for us, but are rarely a luxury that people will buy for themselves. Humans are hardwired to connect with one another and studies have demonstrated that physical touch can boost mental health. I typically choose to give a gift card to Massage Envy or Hand and Stone because you can order them online and they have numerous locations that are likely close to where your loved one lives. Find them at : https://www.massageenvy.com/ or http://www.handandstone.com
4. Down Blanket
There are few things that I love more than
being wrapped in a down comforter in my
bed. Sometimes when I’m reaching for
something sugary and comforting to eat, I
realize what I’m really craving is the
ultimate comfort…being wrapped in blankets
in my bed. Since its annoying and too big to drag
my comforter all over my house, I love this
down blanket. It feels like a comforter but with
less bulk and all the softness. I also love that
this style has a satin trim for extra softness
and texture.
5. Aromatherapy Diffuser
Recently, I’ve gotten really into aromatherapy and the positive affects it can have on my mental health. I love having a diffuser running and picking different scents depending on my or my clients’ needs that day. I love the grain wood of this diffuser. I have this one in my office and it blends right in with the decor. It turns different colors and has 1, 3 and 6 hour settings so you can diffuse all day long!
