Growing up in Philly as a first generation Asian-American exposed me to various social problems at a young age. Prior to joining Therapy for Women, I have worked with different communities including BIPOC folks, students, children diagnosed with ASD, and older adults with chronic illnesses. A common theme I found through my own lived experience and my work was the profound impact of marginalization. I learned firsthand how social problems can impact one’s mental health, how mental health challenges/treatment can be perceived differently through cultures, and why the identities we hold matter so much. This led me to pursue my MSW and become a therapist. It is also why I am passionate about access to high-quality mental health care and the need for therapists of color.
My goal as a therapist is to foster an authentic and collaborative space where you can process your thoughts, feelings, and life challenges without judgment. My therapeutic approach is person-centered and strengths-based. I utilize techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-focused therapy, and Mindfulness in my practice. Wherever you may be in your mental health journey, I strive to meet you there and would be honored to have the opportunity to support you.
